Dilworth Little League Opening Ceremonies

This spring marks the 73rd season of Dilworth Little League, and we’re excited to invite everyone to our Opening Ceremonies on Friday, March 27 at 6:00 PM.
Little League is more than just a game — it’s a family tradition. Parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends all come together to cheer on our young athletes. It’s always special to watch players grow through the years, transforming from enthusiastic Tee Ball rookies into confident baseball and softball players ready to take the field.
Join us as we celebrate another season of growth, teamwork, and community. Bring the whole family as we honor each team and the hard work they’ve put in preparing for the season. Players should arrive in uniform and be ready to proudly represent their team.

- Left Field: Minors / Coach Pitch
- Center Field: Softball / Machine Pitch
- Right Field: Majors / Tee Ball

Opening Night Games
After the ceremony, we’ll kick off the season with games across several divisions.

Food & Concessions
Food will be available at the concession stand, where we accept cards and Apple Pay.
Roman’s All Star Café will also be on site and opening around 5:00 PM for early arrivals, so come hungry.
Little League Pledge
During the ceremony, parents and players will participate in the Little League Parents and Players Pledges.
As adults, our role is to provide positive encouragement for every player, regardless of team. For our players, the focus is on developing a love for the game, building skills, and giving their best effort at every practice and game.
Opening Ceremonies help set the tone for a great season, and this shared pledge reminds us what youth sports are all about.
Parking Information
With the great weather forecast, the park is expected to be crowded and parking will be limited.
Please consider carpooling, walking, or riding bikes if possible.
Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation does not allow parking on the grass, so please use all available paved parking spaces, including those near the playground.
Additional parking is available at:
- The tennis courts
- The Mahlon Adams Pavilion
- The gravel parking lot across East Boulevard

Recent projects include:
- New Freedom Park batting cages benefiting Softball, Minors, Majors, and Machine Pitch players
- New backstop at Latta Park for Tee Ball
- Base cutouts at Colonial Park for Coach Pitch
- Major renovation of the batting cage at Sedgefield Middle School serving Jr/Sr/18U players
These improvements help ensure that players at every level of our league have a great place to learn, practice, and play.
